The Port Jervis Free Library Turns 125 Years Old!
October 21 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Port Jervis – We invite you all to join us at the library on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. as the Port Jervis Free Library celebrates its 125th anniversary. The library’s anniversary celebration will include self-guided library tours, live music with The Parting Glass Band, a book birthday party for kids with local author K. L. Going, an edible book cake contest, door prizes and refreshments.
This annual celebration provides our patrons with a closer look at the library and reveals the wide array of materials, programs and services we have available. The library is truly an integral part of the community fulfilling your reading and viewing pleasure as well as cultural activities.
The Port Jervis Free Library opened on September 29, 1892 on the second floor of the Farnum Building. In 1903 a new building was constructed with funds provided by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.
